Tilgate Forest Local Nature Reserve is located at the northeast corner of Tilgate Golf Course in Crawley. It comprises blocks of conifer and broad-leaved woodland plantation, together with an area of heathland and acid grassland underneath a line of pylons.

Wildlife
Wildlife present includes dragonflies, damselflies, common lizards, adders, woodpeckers, blue tits, long-tailed tits, siskins, goldfinches, goldcrests, and wood ants.

We are very lucky to have this wonderful area on our doorstep. There is the wonderful lake and the pathways around it. There are also lots of cycle trails and walks through the forest. A great play park for children and a golf course with a driving range. There is also a Smith & Western restaurant. On Saturday mornings there is a 5k ParkRun.
Too close to Crawley!! On a nice summery weekend half of the town descend onto the place and when they leave it looks like crap. Shame as it's a lovely park the rest of the year.
Really beautiful place to walk with so many different paths to take. Lovely lake to sit by or walk around too. A restaurant, I’ve cream truck and toilets all on site. Pay to park. Definitely worth a visit especially in the sunnier weather!
