Hope Wood
Hope Wood is a new community woodland project located north of Portford Lane in South Brent, Devon. Over 10,000 native trees were planted in the first year, with plans for around 12,500 more in the second year, including broadleaf woodland, wood pasture and orchard trees. The project symbolises resilience and a sustainable future, and marks the first step in the council's pledge to plant a tree for every resident in the South Hams district.

History
Project launched as part of South Hams District Council's pledge to plant a tree for every resident in the South Hams district, supported by Defra's Nature for Climate Fund and aligned with the district's net-zero carbon emissions commitment by 2050. Collaboration between South Hams District Council, Sustainable South Brent, the Woodland Trust, and Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest.
